I am a professor emeritus in social work,
with a life spent in practice, research and reflection.
For many years I worked within the field of violence and abuse,
where questions are rarely abstract and answers are never simple.
Over time, I came to understand that theory and practice are not opposites.
They belong together—in the lived life.
My awareness of philosophy being practical, began in 2009, after completing my Ph.D and walking the pilgrimage from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela.
The journey did not end.
It changed form.
Here I continue to walk—
through writing, reflection and dialogue.
Not to arrive,
but to remain on the path.
